UNDERSTAND HUMAN BEHAVIOR
Sociology is the study of human behavior. It is the primary social science and focuses on the development, structure, and functioning of human society. Sociologists study virtually every aspect of human society and seek to understand social life, social change, and social causes and consequences of human action.
Topics of interest include: the family, gender, race and ethnic relationships, aging, education, work, population, human interactions with the environment, multiculturalism, media and culture, globalization, criminology, and many more. Courses combine sociological theory with research. Sociologists are interested in both social problems and the fundamental social processes that are present in any society.
