Chefs and Head Cooks oversee the daily food preparation at restaurants and other places where food is served. Chefs work in restaurants, resorts, amusement/gambling/recreation facilities, and private households. They often work early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays. The work can be hectic and fast-paced, but opportunities are outstanding for those who love the kitchen and embrace culinary artistry and creativity.

Chefs who run their own restaurants or catering businesses are involved with both kitchen and management work. Some Chefs use social media to promote their businesses by advertising new or special menu items or addressing customer reviews.
