Record enrollment for Fall 2023 at MCC

MARSHALLTOWN – The beginning of a new school year is always exciting at Marshalltown Community College as we welcome students to campus. This year there is even more buzz as MCC has record enrollment.

MCC had an increase in credits as well as students this year. They had a 9.23% credit increase and 9.98% student increase since Fall 2022. When broken down even further, that is a 7.14% increase in full-time students and 12% increase in part-time students.

This is the biggest enrollment growth since 2017. There has been strong enrollment increase in the trades program offered at both Marshalltown and Grinnell campus, Computer Networking, Esports Program Management and the Nursing programs.

MCC Associate Dean of Enrollment, Allie Osmundson believes several factors have contributed to the increase in enrollment. “Things on campus are aligning correctly. From the changes we have made in the admissions process, offering new programs and athletic teams, these are all aspects that have contributed.”

MCC is also offering a lot more events on campus such as open houses, individual campus visits, as well as high school group visits. “Our recruiting efforts are paying off, with prospects coming to campus to see what we offer.”

“The staff and faculty at MCC have been laser focused on growing enrollment through student success and recruitment,” commented Iowa Valley Community College president, Dr. Kristie Fisher. “It is clear that hard work has delivered results. We are proud to be a partner in growing Marshalltown.”

MCC Admissions will continue to offer events through the upcoming semester with more details available as the dates approach. To learn more about MCC and to schedule a visit contact admissions at 641-752-7106 or email mccinfo@iavalley.edu.
