MCC Unveils New Campus Mural by Alumnus Siricasso Garcia
MARSHALLTOWN, IA – Marshalltown Community College (MCC) invites the public to the unveiling of a vibrant new mural created by talented MCC alumnus Siricasso Garcia. The dedication event is scheduled for Friday, October 10, from 3:00 to 5:00 pm.
The campus is marking the mural’s debut with a festive atmosphere that includes food, drinks, and live entertainment. Highlights of the afternoon will feature a special grass dance performance by Tenoch Estrada Snow (Saswedika). There will be a short program to kick-off the event at 3 pm. Attendees can also tap into their artistic side at a create-your-own canvas station and a hands-on screen-printing activity.
The mural is a significant addition to MCC’s campus, underscoring the college’s commitment to the arts and creating an engaging environment for its students.
“This new mural truly adds to the beauty and energy of our campus, making it a more inspiring space for our students and community,” said MCC Provost Matt Schmit. “We were especially excited to involve students by having them participate in the creation of the mural through various activities. It’s a wonderful way to showcase our talent and pride.”
