MCC to launch construction program
MARSHALLTOWN – Marshalltown Community College will be launching a new Construction Residential Practitioner Diploma program this coming Fall 2023 semester.
The program is designed to train students interested in entering the field of residential and light commercial construction. It will transfer easily into the two-year Construction Technology Associate of Applied Science Degree.
Students will develop knowledge of the tools, equipment, techniques, building styles and materials utilized in residential and light commercial construction. This knowledge is then applied to skill development in the actual construction of a residential project. Classes will be held primarily in the MCC Construction building on the Marshalltown campus. A portion of the curriculum will include work experience with local contractors.
