MCC celebrates International Women’s Day 2025

MARSHALLTOWN – In honor of International Women’s Day Marshalltown Community College will be hosting a panel discussion featuring community leaders on Tuesday, March 4 on the MCC campus.

Sponsored by the MCC Community Engagement committee, the panel will feature five speakers. Panelists include Nancy Avila, owner and creator of One Love Barbershop; Taylor Bear, Paraeducator, Entrepreneur, and Diversity Advocate; Michelle Brown, owner and creator of Ma Browns Cookies & More; Suzanne Reed, MPACT at Youth & Shelter Services; and Misty Smith, owner and creator of Wild Spirit Counseling.

The panel is open to the public and no registration is needed. The event will be held 11:30 am to 1 pm in the 600 hallway. A trailer will be shared prior to the panel of the MCC Broadcasting and Digital media student documentary “The Existence of Being a Women.”
