MCC Announces Addition of Bowling Program

MARSHALLTOWN, IA – Marshalltown Community College is excited to announce the addition of Men’s and Women’s Bowling to its athletic lineup. The program will begin with both Men’s and Women’s teams Fall 2026 as part of the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC).

The MCC athletic department is always looking for ways to expand, and leadership believes a bowling program will thrive in Marshalltown. With the Marshalltown High School (MHS) teams coming off several successful seasons, MCC is proud to offer a local transition for student-athletes to continue their competitive careers and build on that success at the collegiate level.

“We know that a bowling program is going to be a great fit for our campus and our community,” says MCC Athletic Director Whitney Sowers. “There is a wealth of bowling knowledge in Marshalltown and the surrounding local communities that have seen great success in the sport. We are excited to tap into the passion and talent.”

MCC is also thrilled to partner with Wayward Social in Marshalltown, where the Tigers will hold their practices. This partnership allows the team to train in a premier local facility right in the heart of the community.

MCC is currently seeking a Head Coach to lead the new program. This is an open position, and the college is looking for a leader ready to build a winning culture from day one. Interested candidates can apply at iavalley.edu/join-our-team/ or contact Sowers.

Prospective student-athletes interested in joining the MCC bowling program are encouraged to reach out to the MCC Athletic Department or fill out an interest form online at MCCAthletics.com.
