Iowa Valley Grinnell Phi Theta Kappa inducts new members

GRINNELL – Twenty Iowa Valley Community College Grinnell students were inducted into the Beta Sigma Chi chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa honor society Monday, Apri. 20th.
The new PTK inductees are, by hometown
- Brooklyn, IA – Kylie Arment, Beau Burns, Aliana Coleman, and Connie Schott.
- Deep River, IA – Lindsey Henry.
- Early, IA – Riley Tiffany.
- Grinnell, IA – Clair Manatt.
- Malcom, IA – Madelynn Doty, Lily Ferry, and Sadie Klein.
- Montezuma, IA – Luke Brennan, Vivian Cook, Claire Erselius, Luke Erselius, Kinze Lacaeyse, Rett Pargeon, Chloe Snook, Peyton Tindle, and Leah Urfer.
- Nehawka, NE – Asher Behrns
Inductees were welcomed by PTK President, Sarah Snachez. IVG Gunsmith Technology instructor, Matt Ostrander was the guest speaker for the event. PTK Advisor, Barb Hall introduced the inductees.
Sanchez and Secretary, Onxe Ibbotson presented inductees with their stoles, flowers and assisted with lighting their candle flame.
Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, headquartered in Jackson, Mississippi, is the largest honor society in American higher education with 1,275 chapters on college campuses. More than 2.5 million students have been inducted since its founding in 1918. Phi Theta Kappa is recognized by the American Association of Community Colleges as the official honor society of two-year colleges.
