2021-22 MCC students to receive extra funding

MARSHALLTOWN – Marshalltown Community College students that are planning to enroll in the 2021-2022 academic year are set to receive up to an extra $1200 towards their education.

The Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act includes a Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF) that provides more than $14 billion in emergency funding to higher education. More than $6 billion of those funds will go directly to students.

MCC’s portion of the funding will be awarded to both full and part-time students. This will be directly credited to student accounts. Funds are limited so make sure to apply as soon as possible.

“This is free money for our students. It’s a great opportunity if you are thinking of attending MCC this fall,” commented Angie Redmond, MCC Dean of Enrollment and Student Life.

Registration for Fall 2021 is currently open and the semester begins on Monday, August 30. Call 641-844-5710 today to start the next steps in your education.
