IVCCD Students Earn Fourth FilmFreeway Selection, Achieve Festival Nominations

MARSHALLTOWN – Congratulations are in order for the talented students at Iowa Valley Community College District (IVCCD), Marshalltown Campus, who have achieved their fourth official selection on FilmFreeway, placing the community college among the upper tier of projects showcased on the platform.

This latest achievement reflects the continued excellence and momentum of IVCCD’s student filmmakers, whose work is gaining increasing recognition at respected film festivals.

Two student projects have earned nominations at the 35th Anniversary Iowa Motion Picture Film Festival, a significant milestone in Iowa’s film community:

FilmFreeway is a globally recognized platform that connects filmmakers with festivals and industry opportunities worldwide. Reaching four selections signals sustained quality, creativity, and professional-level storytelling from student creators.

“These nominations demonstrate the dedication, creativity, and technical skill our students bring to every project,” said Professor Jocelyn Frohwein, head of the Broadcasting and Digital Media studies at the Marshalltown Campus. “Their continued success shows that powerful stories and professional results can come from community college programs.”

As IVCCD students continue to build their portfolios and gain national and regional recognition, this accomplishment marks another proud moment for the Marshalltown Campus and the broader Iowa Valley Community College District community.
