Marshalltown Community College (MCC) is proud to announce that President Anne Howsare Boyens has been selected to receive the prestigious Phi Theta Kappa Paragon Award for New Presidents. This award recognizes outstanding leadership and commitment to student success.

The Phi Theta Kappa Paragon Award honors new college presidents who demonstrate exceptional support for student success and cultivate high-quality learning environments both inside and outside the classroom. President Howsare Boyens, who joined Iowa Valley Community College District in November 2024, was nominated for her active interest in the leadership development of Phi Theta Kappa students and her dedication to creating more opportunities and stronger pathways to completion, transfer, and employment for all students.

“We are incredibly proud of President Howsare Boyens for receiving this well-deserved recognition,” said Dr. Cecil Holland, Phi Theta Kappa advisor for the Alpha Iota Rho Chapter at MCC. “Her dedication to student success is evident in everything she does, and this award is a testament to her leadership and vision for MCC and the Iowa Valley Community College District”
