MCC Commencement is Friday, May 13

MARSHALLTOWN – The public is invited to attend the 94th annual commencement ceremony at Marshalltown Community College on Friday, May 13, at 7 pm, in the MCC Student Activity Center. The MCC Class of 2022 includes 367 graduate applicants; this includes fall and winter 2021 graduates and spring and summer 2022 applicants.

2021 and 2020 MCC graduates have also been invited to participate in the first graduation ceremony since 2019.

The commencement program includes the Presentation of Colors by the Central Iowa Division of the U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps and the National Anthem performed by the group Mtunes. MCC Provost Dr. Robin Shaffer Lilienthal will welcome guests, and MCC Dean of Academic Affairs, Dr. Vincent Boyd, will introduce the commencement speaker.

The Commencement Address will be given by 2021 MCC December Graduate Annalissa Haubrich. She graduated with her Associate of Arts Liberal Arts degree.

MaryAnne Nickle, Dean of Iowa Valley Community College Grinnell, will present Student Awards and Academic Honors. Honorary MCC Degrees will be presented by Theresa Orlovsky, MCC Faculty Senate President.

A reception honoring the graduates will be held outside of the Student Activity Center immediately following the commencement ceremony.
