- Executive Director, Marshall County Arts & Culture Alliance
A 2009 graduate of Marshalltown Community College and 2011 graduate of the University of Northern Iowa, Amber (Illum) Danielson is now the Executive Director of the Marshall County Arts & Culture Alliance. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Marketing with a minor in International Business.
Amber said she never really thought about working for a non-profit organization like the Arts & Culture Alliance, but that when her position became available she saw it as an awesome opportunity. “I’ve always enjoyed being involved and being a part of the community,” says Amber. “Honestly, I can’t believe this is my job! There are so many good organizations and leaders in Marshall County, and I love being on the inside of all that. There’s just a great deal going on right now with arts and culture, and it’s fun to be a part of it all.”
Amber is a woman of many talents and interests. She traveled with her UNI classmates to Nicaragua, where they helped in the schools and painted a church. Following her graduation from UNI, she worked for three years at ESP International, an international distributing company in Cedar Rapids. After moving back to Marshalltown, she started her own photography business (Timeless Reflections) “just for fun.”
Amber is married to Cole Danielson, who works (from home) for a marketing and research company in Minneapolis. She is the daughter of Allan and Michelle Illum of Marshalltown.
