PTK collects donations for Children’s Cancer Camp
Tuesday / May 16, 2017
Members and advisors of the Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Honor Society at Marshalltown Community College volunteered to collect and donate items for the Children’s Cancer Camp this summer in Boone. Since 2000, the Iowa Region of Phi Theta Kappa has partnered with the Children’s Cancer Connection by helping collect prizes for carnival games; food items such as cereals, macaroni and cheese; art supplies; and other items. The MCC PTK chapter has volunteered at the camp in previous years. This year the chapter decided to secure a list of items needed and have members donate the items. This year’s list included a variety of cereals, Sharpie pens, toilet paper, and gift cards to buy other needed essentials. Several PTK chapters around Iowa are volunteering at the camp, which will be held on Sunday, June 11.
