MCC launches “blended/hybrid” PN program

Health Occupations

Marshalltown Community College will now offer a new part-time “blended/hybrid” Practical Nursing program starting this January. The goal of the new program is to offer more online classes and provide flexibility to those with busy schedules. This program is catered mainly to those adult students who are working or parenting while in college.

“We feel this will definitely benefit those who are working and have families,” says Linda Hanson, Dean of Health Occupations at IVCCD. “The program will go at a slower pace, but we will still hold each student to the same high expectations as we do with our other nursing and health occupations programs.”

The program will span three semesters (two spring/one fall) and one full summer term.

The program launches on Jan. 11, and is now accepting applicants. For more information or to enroll in the program, contact Pele Waddilove at 641-844-5726 or

Program is still pending approval from the Department of Education.
