GLBTQ alliance

The GLBTQ Alliance is a student group for GLBTQ individuals and allies.  The mission of the Alliance is: a) to provide support to and between GLBTQ individuals and allies; and b) to educate the MCC community about GLBTQA issues.  Regular meetings are held during the fall and spring semesters. (Meeting times and locations will be announced via TV monitors.)

Fundraising / Scholarship

  • We fundraise each year to help support the Alliance’s two scholarships

Safe Zone Safe Zone logo

The group has started Safe Zone trainings.  We are in the infancy stage of our programming and are working to improve it each year.  You may see “Safe Zone” cards (see below) around campus. This cards designate areas where GLBTQ+ individuals are accepted, free to express themselves, and discrimination is not tolerated.


  • Visited the UNI LGBT* Center
  • Visited the ISU LGBT Student Services Center
  • Discussed current events and provide support
  • Posted educational signs about the different GLBTQ+ flags around campus
  • Presented a poster at the MCC Diversity Festival
