Even though the number of farms is declining, farm labor contractors and farm management services are still in demand. Employment of agricultural and food scientists is projected to grow 9 percent from 2012 to 2022, about as fast as the average for all occupations. Any career in agriculture should start with a solid background in plant and animal biology and chemistry.
