Kaylee Howe named PTK Outstanding Student Leader

One student and two advisors from the Marshalltown Community College Phi Theta Kappa chapter attended the PTK Iowa Leadership Conference Oct. 4-5 in Des Moines. MCC student and PTK Vice President Kaylee Howe and PTK Advisors P.J. Colbert and Pele Waddilove attended, as well as about 80 students and advisors from other Iowa PTK chapters.

Howe received the Outstanding Student Leader Award at the conference, and the MCC chapter received a recognition plaque for co-hosting the event.

The conference included a College Fair, where PTK members could meet with representatives from Iowa’s Regent universities and many private colleges from Iowa and surrounding states.

Phi Theta Kappa is the international honor society for two-year colleges; Alpha Iota Rho is the MCC Chapter of PTK.
